CHIEFS AT PORTLAND FRIDAY NIGHT

The Spokane Chiefs at Portland Winterhawks game on Friday, February 24th will be aired live on Root Sports Northwest, Xfinity Digital Channel 32 (standard definition) and 627 (high definition) in Spokane.  The broadcast is a part of the 10 game WHL package aired this season on Root Sports.  Airtime is scheduled for 7:00.

Mike Boyle will also have the call of the game live on the radio at 7:00 on SportsRadio 1510 KGA, Everything Sports.  Xfinity Hockey Tonight, an indepth look at the game featuring the TicketsWest Coaches Corner, Champion Sports Medicine -  U-District Therapy Injury Report and Thrifty Car Rental Line-ups, will begin a half-an-hour prior to the game.

Friday's game will be the Chiefs and Winterhawks eighth and final game of the year and Spokane's first trip to Portland since Friday, November 25th.  Spokane won two of three meetings over a three game stretch versus the Winterhawks in late January.  Spokane won the first two games on back-to-back nights and dropped a 3-2 overtime decision on January 27th.  Dylan Walchuk and Darren Kramer scored for Spokane.  Spokane won the previous two by scores of 5-2 on January 21st and 6-1 on the 22nd. Mike Aviani and Mitch Holmberg each scored twice on the 22nd night as Spokane outshot the ‘Hawks 33-22.  In the game on the 21st, Steven Kuhn had two goals and Dominik Uher had a goal and two assists in the Spokane victory.

Darren Kramer has three goals and six assists to lead the Chiefs while Mike Aviani has three goals, eight points and is a +6.  Eleven players have scored a goal versus the Winterhawks with 10 of them scoring at least twice.
